Feralco announces the acquisition of the Spanish Company Gesitma S.L.

FERALCO Group, the Swedish multinational company, a leading manufacturer of high performance water treatment and process chemicals in Europe, has announced today the acquisition of GESITMA S.L., a Spanish company specialized in Industrial Waste Management, based in La Rioja. GESITMA is a national leader in collecting and treating pickling liquors, on top of distributing related products such as acids and inorganic coagulants, with a turnover above 6M€.

This acquisition has been realized through Feralco Iberia, the subsidiary of the FERALCO Group in Spain and Portugal, and will generate “obvious commercial synergies with our major inorganic coagulants customers. It will also reinforce FERALCO’s strategic positioning on key raw materials, essential for both our competitiveness and the development of new products for industrial and urban waste water treatment” highlights Iñigo Ramírez Zabala, Feralco Iberia CEO.

The incorporation of GESITMA in Feralco Iberia, which currently has two production units in the Basque Country and one in Madrid, will broaden FERALCO’s position in Spain and Portugal and allow a strong foothold in the circular economy.
